]]>- Comfort – first and foremost we love living in a world where HVAC systems keep rooms at a temperature we can all enjoy.
- Health – in some cases, especially these frigid winters and hot and humid summers we’re treated with in Nebraska, HVAC systems keep us alive and well.
- Smell – no offense, but we probably wouldn’t enjoy smelling each other in the summer without a good air conditioner keeping us sweat free most of the day.
What makes you thankful for heating and cooling systems?
Happy Valentines Day!

If your furnace isn’t keeping up the way you think it should it’s not always an expensive fix. In today’s blog post we discuss some simple DIY things you can do to keep your home warm this winter.
- Check your vents are free and clear of all obstructions. Rugs, furniture, drapes, and even dogs could be in the way.
- Change your air filter once a month. Setting a reminder on your phone is a good way to remember to do this.
- Clean your gutters and drains before freezing weather hits. This helps avoid ice dams.
- Check your doors for drafts. Using a door snake or rolled up towel keeps warm air in and cold air out.

]]>With summer quickly approaching TechMasters would like to send out the reminder of the importance of having your HVAC system checked before it gets too warm out. With our imminent sticky humidity and high temps heading in soon, you will want to make sure you’re able to keep your home nice and cool. Extreme changes in temperature can turn any minor issues within your HVAC system into even bigger (and more expensive) problems, which can cause a break down in your system just when you need it most. An annual service check can catch those minor issues before it’s too late!
HVAC systems can become less energy efficient quickly and regular check-ups ensure that each part of the system is in good shape and can do its job efficiently. When your system is working properly, you’re saving money each month on that cooling bill. By getting a check-up you’re also going to expand the life of your system- regular maintenance will reduce the premature wear of parts.

]]>Nick came up with the name based on the TV series “Kung Fu” when he would fix something difficult or give advice fellow employees would say “ahh master” as David Carradine would say to his teacher. Since we call ourselves technicians hence the name Techmasters.
Nick grew up on a farm near Oak Nebraska. He attended high school in Davenport, NE graduating in 1983. He went to College at Central Community College in Hastings, NE and earned his associates degree in Environmental Control (HVAC). He worked for a couple of different companies honing his diagnostic skills to the point of having the confidence to start his own business.
Since 1996 and two service techs, Techmasters has grown to 18 service techs covering Lincoln, Omaha, Grand Island, Hastings, Kearney and North Platte.
Techmasters strives to hire the best technicians available in the area and train them properly so they have the skills to take care of their customer’s needs in a timely and affordable manner.
